2023 Note from section chair

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It’s been a tough few years due to the pandemic, but it seems we’re starting to get back to normal. One constant throughout this time has been the invaluable role of science in seeking truth and finding solutions, from identifying and tracking the COVID virus to developing vaccines and treatments. It is an understatement to say that chemistry, as a part of the interdisciplinary field, has played a significant role in all developments. However, We must also recognize the importance of effectively communicating science to all parts of society and the dangers of failing to do so. As members of the American Chemical Society, we have the privilege of interacting with people from all walks of life and should take every opportunity to learn and improve our communication to remain relevant and useful. In any case, I am optimistic for a great year ahead.
